- Termasuk protokol routing tingkat lanjut
- Waktu convergence yang cepat (cepat dalam mengatasi link yang putus dan langsung mencari path backup tercepat).
- Mendukung VLSM dan subnet-subnet.
- Update dilakukan jika hanya ada perubahan pada network tertentu
- Adil dalam membagi link yang sama ke network tujuan (load balance)
- Pemilihan jalur terbaik menggunakan metric
